Everyone is back home. Kirven is home from camp, and Dunagan is home from Grammy and Grandpa camp. It was quiet without the boys, and the house exploded with clutter when they returned. But I was thankful for the clutter today because it means everyone is back.
We're jumping back in with lessons, in earnest, tomorrow. It is hot outside. All day. And will be until October, so I'm thinking of this as our second session of first grade. Kirven will start "second grade" in November when he turns 8.
Kirven and I are moving on the "ight" word family tomorrow, which will also include lots of other long "I" vowel words. And we'll do long "O" and "U" next before switching back to a math block and doing fact families.
Now that Dunagan is 5, I'm thinking of him as 'kindergarten,' and he'll be doing more things focused for him rather than just listening in on Kirven's work. I'm planning on teaching him to braid this week.
