Why the Tree of Life?

Camp's Over

We picked Kirven up from Camp La Junta at the end of June. He had been there for two weeks fishing, swimming, shooting rifles and bows and arrows, playing games and eating cookies everyday.... among other things.

Fawn

We have a lot of deer in our neighborhood. Recently, the does were having their fawns, and this little one was right behind our back gate. We knew it was there because our dog Geena went crazy, and the mother doe was standing guard. Later, while the mother was away, I quietly ventured out the gate to see if I could find the fawn. I nearly stepped on it! It was amazing. I knew where it was, generally speaking, but I really had to be within a foot of it or less to actually see it. It shows up better in the photograph than it did in real life!

Rockslide

Our neighborhood streets were resurfaced several weeks ago (months now?). There was an awesome, enormous, gigantic TALL pile of rocks at the end of one of the culdesacs right behind our house. The kids loved taking their boogie boards from the beach and sledding down them. Hours of fun and filthiness. Unfortunately, the next door neighbor threatened to call the police on them. Good grief. Kids having fun! Quick, call the cops! They're not safe inside their own fences!

But they had gotten to play for several days before they were finally caught.
